Five schools, (Saint Mary School BG is one them) have been invited to take part in an innovative and exciting new pilot program from ComEd called the Earth Month Challenge! This Challenge is built around a contest that awards points for students and families that complete energy-related tasks.  Each school and its participating students will compete against four other selected schools and earn points during the month of April.

STUDENTS CAN HELP THEIR SCHOOL EARN POINTS IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

  • By turning in a signed Earth Month Challenge Pledge form
  • By helping their parent/guardian use less electricity at home*
  • By completing each task or extra credit activity on each weekly Challenge Sheet and submitting these signed sheets every Friday when they are due
  • By having their parent/guardian post photos or videos or comments about their energy-saving activities to Facebook, Twitter or YouTube or to their school’s Web page – or by having them send these items to EMC@ComEd.com for posting to the blog section of this Web site

The Earth Month Challenge is a great way to make learning about energy efficiency fun!
Plus, the school with the highest ranking at the end of the contest will win a $5,000 Grand Prize from ComEd! **

*Requires a signed pledge card with a ComEd account number. Household must reside in ComEd’s service territory.
**At least 5,000 points need to be earned for a school to be eligible for a prize.
